Come for an evening workout of hiking up Prairie Mountain; the ultimate training grounds for getting into condition for our upcoming summer hiking and events!

The event will go ahead if there are showers but may be cancelled if there are likely to be thunderstorms or heavy rain. An email will be sent by 2:00 pm on Wednesday if we have to cancel the event.

You will be hiking at your own pace but will need to turn around and head back down regardless of your position after 85 minutes. That will allow you 65 minutes to come down from the turnaround point. We would like everyone to be down by 8:30 pm at the latest.

Note this hike is NOT suitable for beginners as we will hike at a brisk or fast pace and you will possibly be hiking on your own as the group may split depending on your individual pace. The event is geared towards personal best times so be prepared to hike up and down on your own in the event you do not find a compatible hiking partner. People will begin their ascent at 6:00 pm sharp so please plan to be there at least 10 minutes beforehand. We will all meet at the trailhead/parking area as a group at the end of the hike before leaving.

For those who may be interested - after returning to the trailhead/parking area, we will be heading over to the Bragg Creek PowderHorn Saloon for a quick après-hike drink and/or pub fair.

Once again, when registering for this event, please indicate in the notes what your preferred carpool location is (Richmond Road Canadian Tire, Fish Creek C-Train Station, or Shouldice Arena/Park) and whether you are willing to take part in the après-hike social. Please note, not all carpool locations may be an option. It will depend on the level of interest for each location.
