Itinerary:

This trip is not recommended for beginner scramblers/backpackers. Please do not sign up if you are unwilling to stay with the group. You will be given instruction to pay your trip deposit to your trip organizer: $15 backcountry permit/ booking fees + $22 gas deposit. Refundable if suitable candidates could be found.

We will be SHARING tents - 2 persons per tent, one tent per campsite. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Brachiopod + Anthozoan + Pika Peaks
Itinerary:
Day 1: Trail head to Baker lake campground (Distance 13.2km, Elevation gain 710m, Elevation loss 150m); Set up tent/ Break (1 hour), Brachipod + Anthozoan mountains (3-6 hours from Baker lake) Height gain 410m.
Day 2: Early start (likely 7am wake up call from me :P); Clean up campsite, hike to Hidden lake and drop our backpack at the campground. Pika Peak (3033m): Difficult scramble 3.5-6 hours from Hidden lake, Height gain 750m; Hiking back to trail head.

Please refer to explor8ion.com and Alan Kane's book for scrambling route. Speed: Slow/moderate and steady. Moderate on flat.

* Means to treat water (filter/tablets/drops)
* Layers with warm clothing, wind breaker,& rain gear + Rain cover for backpack
* First aid kit
* Headlamp

* $ for National Park entrance/park pass
* Bear spray

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $120.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Friday, April 19, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
