+++Drivers are needed+++:

It's great to live in Calgary! You don't have to travel far to get a quick hike in.

Moose Mountain fire lookout. It provides a very scenic view on a clear day, whereby the foursome can be seen to the southwest:Banded Peak, Outlaw Peak, Mt. Cornwall and Mt. Glasgow. You'll have many "digital moments". Moose Mountain is located halfway between the prairies and the first range of the Rocky Mountains.

We are planning to have lunch at the summit(where the fire lookout is). Hopefully the sun will be out and the wind light.

~~~~~If you live in the NW, you might want to meet us directly at the trailhead; quicker for you than meeting us at the SW carpool.~~~~~~
PACE: Relaxed slower pace when doing the uphill portions and moderate for the balance. If you are a speed demon please sign up for another hike.
Note that COC event coordinators are volunteers and are NOT trained guides. All participants are responsible for their OWN safety and equipment.
Required Items to Bring:
-Proper hiking footwear and PACK (ensure your PACK is big enough to include extras -- a small bike pack that only fits your hydration water system and small lunch is TOO SMALL...one should always be ready for the unexpected)
-Plastic bag to put muddy/dirty boots in.
-Extra pair of socks(keep you feet dry when your boots get wet - rain/puddles).
-Plenty of water ( 1 1/2L minimum, more if hot)
-Lunch
-Dress in layers
-Mittens, toque
-First-aid kit(do not rely on coordinator)
-Bear spray and/or air horn and/or whistle - NO BEAR BELLS
-Change to pay your driver.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
