Distance: ~7-10KM Elevation Gain: ~ 940M to "teahouse" + optional 274M to ridge. Note:Hiking boots are required-sorry no runners. This hike is not recommended for members who have not yet hiked this year. You should be in good shape for this hike. This hike is a short steep sharp ascent towards the top of the mountain where the "teahouse" is. The higher you climb the more spectacular the views become. To the south all the peaks of the Bow Valley lie at your feet.(Please note that the "teahouse" is abandoned & therefore does not offer any beverage or food services.) We will be going at a moderate pace for the duration with few prolonged stops. If you feel that you may not be able to follow at a moderate pace, then you may wish to reconsider this hike. | |||||||

How to Get There: | |||||||
Event Directions: | Take highway 1 west out of Calgary & continue until you see a sign "Canmore City Centre". Take that exit(you will drive in front of the Silver Tip Hotel), which will lead you to an overpass where there will be a set of lights-turn left on Benchland Trail for a few minutes until you reach the junction with Elk Run Blvd. Turn right on Elk Run Blvd. & you will see right away a sign "Trailhead Parking Lot", make an immediate left into the parking lot. | ||||||
