Itinerary:
Disc Golf is played much like regular golf, but instead of trying to hit a ball into a hole, players attempt to get discs into a metal basket in the least amount of throws. Similar to clubs in ball golf, there are different discs for each shot. There are hundreds of discs available on the market which generally fall into three categories: drivers; midranges and putters. It is recommended that you have one of each to start although one could get away with just a straight flying midrange in the beginning.

Baker Park is a great 18 hole course in a beautiful maintained park. Par is 56 over the full course. Holes vary in length from around 200ft to a little over 500ft. It is a challenging but not too overwhelming of a course. We usually play a couple of rounds.

Beginners are welcomed for this event but basic throwing skills are helpful in getting the most out of the game. If you participate in sports such as softball or ultimate frisbee, you should pick the game fairly easily. Games are pretty casual and scorekeeping is optional. The goal is to have a great day playing outside. Everyone should bring discs but I do have quite a few extra discs to lend if you just want to try it out.

--- Chase the Ace! ---
The ace pot is back! 'Holes in One' are rare so it is nice to get a few $$$ to help celebrate. How it works is that everyone who wishes to be included chips in $5. If someone lucks out and gets an ace, they win the cash in the pot. The pot carries over if not won. Only the first round of Sunday/Thursday disc golf at Baker is eligible for the ace pot. Mandos are in effect.

Over the last 5 or so years of COC disc golf, we have had four 'hole in one' shots. The first by Don McCall on hole #2, the second by James Van Benthem also on hole #2 and the third by Ken Mcleod on hole #3 and I got the fourth on hole #4. There are a number of holes on this course where aces are possible even for novices.
