Hike Description
This classic hike into Paradise Valley and seeing Lake Annette, the north face of Mount Temple, Horseshoe Glacier, Horseshoe Meadow and then the Giant Steps is a premier four booter (I don’t know I have never been but that’s what the Copeland’s say) and it does not get any better than that. Or does it? I have seen photos of the lake below Horseshoe Glacier but that’s not enough, I want to witness it with my own eyes and feel how cold it is. To get to it adds a little more distance and elevation gain bringing this event up to a D6 rating. Do some homework and come prepared to assist with route finding and to explore. Lakes and streams and glaciers and waterfalls, those are the places to find refreshment on a hot day. There may be an option for a loop if we find Horseshoe Lake, after that we will return the way we came.
