Itinerary:
Need to keep fit during the week? Come join me for an intense workout at the memorial stairs.

We will meet at the bottom of the stairs at 5:55. After one hour of exercise we will meet again to stretch and then if there is interest, go out for a beverage to celebrate our success.

There are 120 feet, 167 steps, (~40m) of McHugh's Bluff to climb up. Start at the level you are comfortable with and work your way up. Just remember it's supposed to be training, so it ought to be a bit tougher than a hike.

Really, really good training for your hikes/backpacking trips to come in summer or just to improve your overall stamina.

Route #1:
There are 167 steps up the stairs (works the thighs a lot), and then walk down the bike path to catch your breath.

Route #2:
Speed walk (aka fast!) up the bike path heading east and come down the stairs. You should feel it in your hips if you go fast enough.
