Let's try it again "Sam". Cancelled last time due to wind. HWY 40 South of 742 turnoff towards "Smith Dorrien Trail" is still open until Nov 30 and will be last time to drive down. We have an beautiful sunny opening for Sat. It is "Remembrance Day" and in observance of what it cost others for our Freedom, we will take a moment of silence at the peak.

Odlum Ridge is on the southwest side of Highway 40 south of Highwood Pass. If the weather pattern holds, the view along the ridge should be fantastic.

There will likely be some bushwhacking and route finding on this trip. I have not done this trip before and it is exploratory in nature. There will also be snow on the entire route. (Bring Snow shoes just in case).

For the safety and enjoyment of the group, you must be very fit to join this trip as we are now dealing with limited daylight hours and will need to keep a moderate pace. I may contact you if I'm not familiar with your scrambling skills or fitness level. Also, the helmet, ice axe and headlamp are required.

Please Note: There will be a creek crossing on this hike. All participants must bring creek crossing footwear (Highly recommend: Neoprene Socks) with crocs, sandals, or watershoes.

There is a strong possibility of snow calf to knee deep, bring snowshoes and micro spikes. We'll be going at a moderate but steady pace. You are expected to have hiked/scrambled the distance and the elevation in the past 2 months.

The coordinator has not done this trip before so route finding might be possible.

Please check the event for a possible last minute update.
