Snowshoe/Hike Description
Fox Lake sits at the base of Mount Fox just across the border into British Columbia. My hope is that the snow depths will be deep enough so we can snowshoe for the entire event. Be prepared to hike for sections if there is not enough snow. You will need to find a way to secure your snowshoes to your pack if we hike parts of the route. To get to and from Fox Lake we will be taking snowshoe trails and following along side (not on) sections of cross country ski trails. Being early season hopefully the number of skiers will be minimal. The exact trails and direction will be decided as we go but will include Hydroline, Elk Pass, Patterson, and Fox Creek. Expect lots of mountain views including the Continental Divide Range. When opportunities are presented to explore off trail in the snow, we will go for it.

NOTE:
This event is best suited to those who have regularly completed D4, D5 hikes.
Please come prepared and self sufficient for full on winter conditions.
Extra warm layers to put on when we stop for lunch will be beneficial.
We will be sticking together as a group and taking time to enjoy the snow.
If the forecast turns to be miserable this event will be cancelled and an email will be sent out Friday evening.
