Itinerary:

Thank you for reading the entire event description prior to signing up.

Distance : Total 8 km round trip (return to Rawson Lake)
Total elevation gain : approximately 350 metres
Pace : Relaxed

Saturday's temperatures are supposed to improve, they are forecasting a low of -4 and high of +2 for the Kananaskis area :-). Let's enjoy an outing in beautiful surroundings and in great company while getting a good work out.

There is some elevation gain to contend with but comparable to Rummel Lake or Chester Lake. The pace will be relaxed, no speedsters please.

Trail description :

We will park at the Upper Lake Day Use parking lot. From there it is a short 3.9 km hike to Rawson Lake that is nested between the Upper Kananaskis Lake and the 3,174 metre wall of Mount Sarrail. To the lake, there is a height gain of 350 metres. There should be some great photo opportunities.

We will not be going into avalanche terrain (far side of Rawson Lake).
