Trail Run in West Bragg Creek recreation area. Viewpoints of the Rockies and meandering through forested ridges. We will be going up Ranger Summit then on to Strange Brew back down to the carpark. Pace will be steady uphill (power hike up) and trotting/jogging/running faster downhill. We can expect ice for most of the trails so you'll need microspikes or similarly pointy. After the hike, we can head to Bragg Creek for some refreshments if anything is open.
NOTE: Bring Microspikes, lots of ice on the trail.
Approx. Distance: 9 KM return
Approx Elevation Gain: 350 M

- Microspikes
- water
- trail runners - NO HIKING BOOTS
- winter layers as needed
- spare change of clothes
- bag for dirty shoes
- personal first aid kit
- Sunglasses/eyewear

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Meet in the main West Bragg Recreation Area parking lot close to the creek.
DIRECTIONS FROM CARPOOL:Head west on Highway 8 west out of town. Hit the roundabout at Highway 22 and head south towards Bragg Creek. Before the stop sign at Bragg and before the Shell gas station, turn right into Balsam Ave. Go pass the mall on your left and at the bridge, turn left at the T junction. Continue for approx. 10 km till the end of the road and you'll reach West Bragg Recreation Area Creek /picnic area/parking lot. Park on the far end of the main (biggest) parking lot.

This event is exempt from avalanche planning, as it is considered to be generally free from avalanche hazards because it is on official snowshoe trails.
