This event is recommended only for hikers that are very familiar with Prairie mtn. We will be in the dark and you may be hiking on your own depending on your pace. Icers, Headlamps and spare batteries are all manditory items to bring

We will not be stopping in Bragg creek for refreshments. However after our return to the car pool we may decide to stop somewhere close by.

Come for an evening workout of hiking up Prairie Mountain; the ultimate training grounds for staying in hiking condition! The event will go ahead if its snowing but may be cancelled if there is likely to be blizzard conditions. An email will be sent by 2:00 pm on Tuesday if we have to cancel the event. You will be hiking at your own pace but will need to turn around and head back down regardless of your position after 60 minutes. That will allow you 60 minutes to come down from the turnaround point. We expect everyone to be down by 8:30 pm at the latest. Note this hike is NOT suitable for beginners as we will hike at a brisk or fast pace and you will possibly be hiking on your own as the group may split depending on your individual pace. The event is geared towards personal best times so be prepared to hike up and down on your own in the event you do not find a compatible hiking partner. People will begin their ascent at 6:30 pm sharp so please plan to be there at least 10 minutes beforehand. We will all meet at the trailhead/parking area as a group at the end of the hike before leaving.
