Itinerary:
This event is intended for those who are genuinely considering going on the Everest Base Camp trek (Nepal side) to begin the planning of this November 2018 trek. The trek to Everest Base Camp conjures up visions of sheer awe and beauty, of a magical land far away. After flying into Kathmandu and then Lukla, one is taken through traditional Sherpa villages, meeting Sherpa people and learning about their customs. Rhododendron forests eventually lead up to glacial moraines and the Himalayan foothills, and after acclimatizing in various villages, the trek leads to the base of the world's highest mountain. Base Camp is located at an elevation of 5,364m. One also has the option of hiking to the summit of Kala Patthar at an elevation of 5,550m. Daily trekking is generally up to 9km and up to 600m elevation gain, hiking up to approximately 7 hours/day. We will be hiring a few guides to lead the hike (not porters) depending on the size of group. Please note we will not be doing this section of the trek with a professional outfitter but rather, as a group with guides hired for safety reasons.

The number of guides will be hired as follows:

1. A group of 2 (with one guide)
2. A group of 4 (with one guide)
3. A group of 6-8 (with two guides)
4. A group of 9-12 (with three guides)

The proposed itinerary is as follows:
