Itinerary:
This event is now a go!

We will be trekking to Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lakes from the Nepal side. The trek to Everest Base Camp conjures up visions of sheer awe and beauty, of a magical land far away. After flying into Kathmandu and then Lukla, one is taken through traditional Sherpa villages, meeting Sherpa people and learning about their customs. Rhododendron forests eventually lead up to glacial moraines and the Himalayan foothills, and after acclimatizing in various villages, the trek leads to the base of the world's highest mountain. Base Camp is located at an elevation of 5,364m. We will be hiring a Sherpa guide(s) to lead the hike (not porters). Please note we will not be doing this section of the trek with a professional outfitter but rather, as a group with guides hired for safety reasons.

The number of guides will be hired as follows:

1. A group of 4-5 (with one guide)
2. A group of 6-8 (with two guides)

Our guide will book our flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, as well as our accommodations in Kathmandu for our arrival. The cost of the guide, guide insurance, tea lodges on the 15 day actual trek and permits is $480.00 U.S. and needs to be sent to the guide as soon as possible to secure our flight to Lukla on Nov 4, 2018. Please note, we are trekking in Nepal's “high season” and the Lukla flight and tea lodges are quickly filling up. There will be no guarantees you will be able to join the group if you do not commit sooner than later. As soon as we have a minimum of 4 committed to this trip and funds sent to the Sherpa guide, we will secure the guide, our flight to Lukla and our tea house accommodations.

Each person will be responsible for sending their own non-refundable payment of $480.00 U.S. via Western Union to our Sherpa so he can book the Lukla flight and pay for the guide, permits and tea lodge accommodations. Your coordinator has the particulars of where to send the payment to when you are ready to send the funds.

Once you have signed up, you will be sent the itinerary details and expected costs for each component of this trip.
