Itinerary:
It’s an estimated 12km round trip with 920 meters elevation gain.

We'll start from Lake Louise and take one of the more popular trails in the Canadian Rockies.

We do a slow "warm-up" pace going up to Lake Agnes. There is an option to stay at Lake Agnes teahouse while the group "bags" the St. Piran summit.

From there we'll head towards the Little Beehive lookout and take the trail going left up to Mount Saint Piran. Mount Whyte and Mount Niblock dominate the view from the summit, but we also have a good view of Lake Louise, Mirror Lake, Lake Agnes and the Bow Valley. If it’s not too cold we’ll eat our lunch there, otherwise we’ll head down toward the far end of Lake Agnes via small ledges to where it’s a little bit warmer.

This is regarded as a steep hike and is listed in Alan Kane's Scrambles in the Canadian Rockies guide book as an easy scramble. Last winter's snowpack was above normal so we may have to return the way we went up instead of doing a loop. The early-ish carpool is because the Lake Louise parking area gets busy on every summer day!
