Itinerary:

The COC Training Team is responsible for providing educational sessions where members can learn about different aspects of the outdoors, specifically:

a) providing educational sessions to members
b) raising awareness about different aspects of the outdoors
c) increasing the members' safety while enjoying their activities in the mountains
d) providing everyone the opportunity to ask pertinent questions.

Your COC Training Committee is offering:

Free skiing lessons for all levels of skiers. Skiing technique used - Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance (CSIA) Fast Track to Parallel

If you are a ski instructor, please come out and help.

If you are a beginner, we'll help you get started and help you to love the sport.

If you are intermediate, we'll help you improve your skills and progress from Stem Christie to perfect parallel.

If you are advanced, you can still benefit from some pointers and improve your skills.

If you just want to tag along for a ride to Norquay and not be part of the lesson, that's fine too.

If you want to learn how to become an Event Coordinator for COC, we can enlighten you.

In case you were wondering who will be teaching, it will be Noel Sam, Lorrie Wazny and Brenda Moore for this event.

Please note that skiing activities have inherent risks involved.

You will need to purchase your own lift ticket. Norquay will be holding its Toonie day on that day. Yes, it will only cost you $2 to ski.

Make sure you know where either the Calgary car pool location is or the Petro-Canada car pool location is and where to park. Please read below for instructions.

We are leaving the Calgary car pool location at 6:45 am and the Petro-Can car pool location at 7:00 am sharp. Please arrive 5 mins early (not too early please). DO NOT be late. If you are going to be late, please call Lorrie at 403-689-6105 or Noel 403- 618-8865 so that we can make arrangements to wait/not wait for you.

If you would like to drive, please indicate how many people you can take (including yourself and ski/boarding gear)

You can rent ski gear on the hill, at UofC or Sports Rent. Renting at UofC or Sports Rent is usually cheaper and you can save time by renting the night before the event. They allow you to keep the gear until the next day.
