Itinerary:
With the recent snow at West Bragg Creek the trails are in very good condition. We'll see which trails have been groomed on the website on the morning of the event and choose accordingly. My B/C boot is still broke so I'm leaning towards trackset stuff, but a longer route.



Winter Safety Considerations

Terrain Classification: This event is exempted from avalanche planning because it takes place on groomed cross-country ski trails.

Forcast is -1C and some flurries.
This event is for intermediate to advanced skiers as the pace will be 5k/hr +
We'll stop in at the Saloon in Bragg for drinks and snacks afterwards if there is enough interest.


Required Items to Bring:
- All cross-country equipment and wax kit.
- Lunch, snacks, water
- Extra layers of clothing
- Day pack

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From Calgary, take Hwy 22 south to Bragg Creek. Before the 4- way stop in Bragg Creek turn right (Balsam Ave). Take Balsam Ave for ~500 meters to T-intersection. Left onto Centre Ave (turns into Township Road 232). 10km until West Bragg Creek trailhead. Parking lot on the right hand (North) side of the road.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $22.50 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Monday, April 15, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
