If you're looking for variety, then look no further than Piper Pass. Beautiful views from the pass with mordor looking peaks of the Tombstone Mountains all around you. One of K-country's best kept secrets, its flower-studded, peridot-colored valley is perhaps the most beautiful in the front ranges of the Rockies.
We'll be taking the slightly shorter approach which may have some off-trail hiking with light bushwhacking. Bring water shoes for this one, because we will be crossing the infant Elbow River at one point and crossing a few other creeks and then back through again. Water levels could still be high. We will be moving at a moderate, but not slow pace, starting from the Elbow Pass day use area on Hwy 40, just north of Highwood Pass.

After the hike we'll stop over in K Village for some refreshments and food. All day event, don't be in rush to get back to town.
