Itinerary: | |||||||
Elevation Gain: 1013 m Distance: 10 km return *** Please note that is mostly a steep hike and is best suited to strong hikers as you gain a lot of elevation within a short distance.*** *** Please note the early departure. This is to avoid the crowds at Lake Louise this time of year. Mount Fairview provides one of the best viewpoints of Lake Louise and the surrounding mountains. Once on the summit, it seems as if Lake Louise is directly beneath your feet over a kilometer below, for the modest effort expanded, it offers some of the best views in the area. From the summit one can see Mt. St-Piran, Niblock, Whyte, Victoria, Temple. The trail starts near the Lake Louise boat house, climbing gently for 3.7 km (595m elevation gain) to the Saddleback. A well- maintained trail then winds its way up to the summit through a boulder field. We will stay at the summit for a well-deserved rest while enjoying the beautiful views & the great company ! | |||||||
