Itinerary:
Distance: 12.8KM loop
Elevation: 915M

One of the best loop hikes within the Banff vicinity, the Mt Edith- Cory Pass loop is a 12.8 km trail for strong hikers only. We will climb most of the 915 m over 4.5 km, eventually climbing well above the tree line. There are several points to stop to catch your breath and take photos on the way up. Once through the Cory pass we enter Gargoyle valley. This valley is aptly named as it full of looming rock and towering edifices. We will follow a rough trail for about 3.5 km through scree fields and across avalanche paths until we regain the main hiking trail at Edith Pass. Then we will descend through lush forest between Mt. Norquay and Mt. Edith until we loop past the Cory Pass junction again and return to the trailhead. Pace will be relaxed; however you do need to be in good physical shape for this hike, given the length, elevation gain and terrain.

I may give priority to those willing to drive
