Itinerary:
The trail winds and switchbacks steadily upwards through forest with few opportunities to catch your breath. The tree cover doesn't allow for many viewpoints along the way but the summit boasts a full panorama of prairie, foothills, and snowy peaks! Bring Microspikes probably has ice/snow patches.

Elevation gain: 700 m
Distance: 13 kms return

Notes:
- If you're not in shape this might not be the hike for you. We'll be moving at a steady pace.
- Expect early winter conditions

-Bear spray (no bear bells)
-Bag for muddy boots
-Lunch/snacks
-Lots of water (minimum 1 litre)
-Personal first-aid kit
- Flashlight
- Money for carpool
- A smile & sense of adventure :-)

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Drive west on Hwy 1 from Calgary and take the Sibbald Creek Trail (Hwy 68) turnoff. At the Powderface Trail junction turn left and drive south to the Dawson camping area and trailhead for approximately 3 kms. Park here. The trailhead is at the east end of the parking area.
