This trip is best suited to strong beginner / intermediate skiers. Everyone should be comfortable reading the trail maps found on the PLPP trails and orienting themselves.

Distance: 18 km
Avg Pace: 5km/hr

We will be skiing at our own pace and ability on this event. We will start at Boulton Creek and head up to the top of Elk Pass where we will stop for a quick snack at the picnic table. Then we will take Tyrwhitt to Whiskey Jack for a fun downhill back to the cars. You need to be confident in your downhill technique as both Tyrwhitt and Whiskey Jack have spots rated difficult. Elk Pass also has difficulty rated spots, but we'll be going uphill on those.

We will then go to the Peter Lougheed Discovery Centre for lunch at 1pm where Jim Thorne of Foothills Search and Rescue will teach us how to start a fire and make a snow shelter. This learning session will end at 2pm.
