SUBJECT TO THE RESERVOIR BEING OPEN. WEATHER & WATER CONDITIONS PERMITTING

Bring Your Own Boat (BYOB)

Spend a lovely day on the water exploring the Glenmore Reservoir and then do lunch nearby after.
Visit the shoreline or head to the Weaselhead area to observe wildlife. We'll have the boats on the water at 10am and be off the water by 12pm. Beginners are welcome. There is no formal lesson, but will be assisted and accompanied until comfortable. Indicate when you sign up if you're going. I am usually wearing a red cap.

Distance: Approx 8km round trip.

NOTE:
1) Participants are expected to attend a mandatory pre-float briefing prior to being on the reservoir.
2. Arrive at the reservoir at 9:45 to get all set up so we can launch at 10am.
NO JEANS or DENIM CLOTHING


Required Items to Bring:
Mandatory items:
- Kayak (yeah, you'll need one), paddle (this too), PFD (definitely this)
- whistle, throw bag with tow rope, bailer
- spare change of clothes
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
- waterproof camera
- dry bag for stuff in the boat
- cool gear that makes you look cool

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From 14 ST SW, (south of Glenmore Trail) turn west into Heritage Drive SW towards Heritage Park. Do not go into the first carpark you see. The boat landing/dock area is right next to the main entrance of the park. You'll see a lot of sailing boats parked around there. We'll be gathering around the picnic tables where the boats will be. DON'T go to the Sailing Club, or the Canoe Club.
