|The day will begin at 9:00 am with a safety talk,
then we will start working right at the trailhead.
What to expect: • Volunteers will hike and carry tools to worksites up to 4 kilometers from the parking lot • Worksites are located in the foothills where there is limited cell phone reception. • Washrooms are located at the trail heads only. • Foothills weather changes unexpectedly so check the forecast and dress accordingly. See clothing suggestions below. • Volunteers are to provide their own lunch and snacks. • Chainsaws are not used during volunteer days. • There will be a first aid kit on site as well as someone trained in first aid. • We will have a satellite phone for use in the event of an emergency. • We will be using tools which may cause injury if used inappropriately. Training on proper use will be conducted at the trailhead. • Our work may consist of rerouting trail, maintaining bridges, rut repair, and management of water movement with drainage rolls, culverts,raised tread, trenching, sumps and knicks
West Bragg Creek requires everyone to sign a volunteer agreement. I will email it to you when you sign up and give you instructions on where to send it.

|Carpool Cost:||Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $14.30 (calculated at total Km * $0.26, effective Tuesday, August 20, 2019). This is based on $0.15/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Note that drivers with large vehicles have the option to adjust this cost based on their vehicles. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual amount among all people in the vehicle and bring some change as drivers are not expected to carry change.|
