Itinerary:
IMPORTANT - Read:
   · This will be a combined trail/off-trail hike.
If you enjoy getting off the beaten path and like to explore, including some light bushwhacking, then this hike is for you.
   · We will be going at a relaxed pace for the uphill portions, and more moderate for the downhill.
   · You must have hiked 15km+ at least a few times in the past year in order to attend.
   · Bear spray is mandatory or you will not be allowed to attend.
   · Do not be in a rush to get back to the city. We are out to explore and event duration may vary. We are also going to be stopping in Black Diamond or Turner Valley for a pub meal.

Distance: 19km
Elevation Gain: 550
High Point: 2,110m

Our Route:
We will hike a clockwise loop beginning from the Gorge Creek Trailhead. From there we will have an easy walk along Volcano Ridge Trail for 5.1km before veering off onto the Link Creek Trail. There we will branch off again to do an out-and-back up to Volcano Ridge. This will be the exploratory element (we will attempt to find the boot-beaten path; if we can't, we will tackle this head on and bushwhack if needed). Once back on the Link Creek Trail we will continue our loop, returning via the Gorge Creek Trail. Note that the exact distance may vary; there may be the option to cut off 2km by cutting across the NE of Volcano Ridge.

We'll be out to enjoy the day and event duration may vary.

*** As this may be a long day, make sure you bring plenty of water and possibly a filter as well.

Post Hike:
We will stop by Sheep River Falls before heading back to either Black Diamond or Turner Valley for a pub meal and drink.
