The views from Raspberry Ridge are excellent with Crowsnest Mountain visable to the south and Mt. Burke visable to the east.

There are two options to get to the lookout. We'll be taking the steeper, more direct route up (300m in about 1 km) and for variety and to save the knees, the switchback route down.

Please be respectful of the fire lookout and its attendant who makes their home there, and stay away from helicopter landing pads.

Please be warned that your event coordinator has not done this hike in over 14 years. Allow time/patience for unforseen circumstances please.

This event may be cancelled if the forecast is not favourable.


Required Items to Bring:
- Cheerful disposition
- Cash to pay your driver and $3 fee (no e-mail transfers)
- Hiking boots (no runners)
- Water (at least one litre)
- Lunch, snacks
- Clothes for changeable weather including rain jacket
- Warm layers
- Plastic bag for your muddy boots for drive home

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Drive south on Highway 2, and turn onto 2A towards Okotoks. Past Okotoks, turn west on Highway 7. Just past Black Diamond, turn south on Highway 22 and then west on Highway 541. At Highwood Junction (the meeting of Highways 541, 40 and 940), drive 11.2km south on Hwy 940 (gravel) to a small parking area at an unmarked, gated road on the right (west) side of the highway).
