The Douglas Fir Trail traverses the escarpment above the Bow River, east of Edworthy Park. This is a short but reasonably strenuous trail run (or walk) with lots of ups and downs via stairs. We will run (or for those of who wish to walk) at a moderately brisk pace. If you prefer to walk, please check with the coordinator if there are any sign-ups who prefer to walk, or make sure you have a walking partner if you do not wish to walk alone.

We will run/walk west from the ramp up to Shaganappi, do the hike one way and return the same way. Total distance is approx. 7.5 km return. For those who plan to run, we will do the entire 7.5 km loop. For those who wish to walk, we will have a turn-around time at 40 minutes.

For those wishing to participate in the apre-run/walk social, we will head over to the Newcastle Pub on the corner of 17 Ave & 26 Street S.W.
