IMPORTANT DETAILS:
This is a beginner hike to get us ready for the summer. Pace will be slower than moderate.
You must be willing to stick together as a group. If you wish to hike at a fast pace, please do NOT sign up for this hike.
Come prepared for icy, snowy, muddy sections on the trail.
Do not be in a rush to get back to Calgary. We will be out to enjoy the day and event duration/return to Calgary may vary.

This is a multi-use trail in the West Bragg Creek area.
We will be hiking Ranger Summit to the Strange Brew intersection and return the same way.


Required Items to Bring:
Traction devices are a must on this hike - trail is icy
Snacks and water
Proper hiking boots
Clothes for varying weather conditions
Plastic bag for wet boots for the drive home

How to Get There:
Event Directions:DIRECTIONS FROM CARPOOL: follow Highway 8 west out of town. Hit the roundabout at Highway 22 and head south towards Bragg Creek. Before the 4 way stop in Bragg Creek, turn right onto Balsam Ave. Go past the mall on your left and after the bridge, turn left at the T junction. Continue for approx. 10 km to the end of the road and you'll reach West Bragg Creek recreation area. Park at the far end of the north parking lot (on your right).

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $30.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Thursday, March 28, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle.
