Distance: 14km
Elevation Gain 700m
Event Pace: Moderate

From the Barrier Lake Dam, take the old fire lookout access road up to Prairie View Trail. After reaching the Prairie View Viewpoint, an unofficial trail heads up to the Barrier Fire Lookout. We'll return the way we went.

Our pace will be relaxed during the uphill portions and moderate for the balance.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Follow the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) heading West to Kananaskis turnoff, highway 40, then south for 9 km to Barrier Lake picnic area/trailhead (by the gate). If you are running late, please text before you start driving. If you arrive after we've left, please do not attempt to hike out alone to catch up with us.
