Disc Golf #94 ~Beginners Always Welcome~
Disc Golf is played much like regular golf, but
instead of trying
to hit a ball into a hole, players attempt to
get discs into a
basket in the least amount of throws. Similar
to clubs in ball
golf, there are different discs for each shot.
hundreds of discs available on the market which
into three categories: drivers; midranges and
putters. It is
recommended that you have one of each to start
could get away with just a midrange (such as a
'Buzz') in the
beginning. Frisbees are usually not suitable
as they do not fly
far enough but they'll suffice if you just want
to give the game a try.
Participation in this event is
conditional upon the acceptance and adherence
to COC COVID-19
protocols (see link at the top of our home
page). Failure to comply with these protocols
may result in
removal from this event and/or future events.
Please answer the following
questions in the comments section during the
sign-up process, in
addition to signing the waiver:
- Have you travelled in the last 14 days?
- Are you showing any symptoms (fever, cough,
loss of taste or smell) of COVID-19, flu or
- Have you been in contact with a confirmed
or presumptive case of COVID-19, or with
has any symptoms of COVID-19, flu or cold?
- Have you tested positive in the last 10
days or are you waiting for COVID-19 test
- Are you associated with a setting that is
currently having an outbreak and been
instructed to get
tested or self-isolate?
- Have you read and understood the current
restrictions that are club policy during the
for a view of the course layout. This is a
9 basket course with 18 individual tee offs.
We will play the full 18 hole course. There is
no charge to play.
Beginners are more than welcome but
throwing skills are helpful in getting the most
out of the game.
If you participate in sports such as softball
or Ultimate frisbee,
you should pick the game fairly easily. Games
will be very
casual and scorekeeping is optional.
The goal here is to simply have fun while
enjoying the great
outdoors. Everyone should bring their own
discs but if you're
a first timer who just wants to give it a try
before investing in any equipment, we generally
have extra discs available to lend out.
