Itinerary:
We will begin at the southeastern edge of Edworthy Park and take The Douglas Fir Trail along the escarpment then pick up Quarry Trail eastward towards Crowchild Trail. At the end of Quarry Trail we will turn around and come back the way we came.

The Douglas Fir Trail is located in the eastern portion of Edworthy Park and is one of the most easterly stands of Douglas Fir in Canada.
Undulating along an escarpment created by an ancient and much mightier Bow River, this natural area is just minutes from downtown. The Douglas Fir Trail is a reasonably short but strenuous hike up and down a series of steps and walkways placed between the bases of beautiful, towering fir trees.
Distance: 7.2 km. NOTE THAT THIS IS A BRISK HIKE WITH LOTS OF STAIRS.
