Distance Edworthy to Fireworks: 16km (round trip approx 28km)
Pace: Leisurely - Avg 15km/hr or so plus brief stops at scenic locations
Terrain: paved bike path.

As the sun sets behind us, we'll leisurely make our way along the Bow River from Edworthy Park towards downtown. Taking our time so we don't arrive too early for the fireworks, we'll coast through and explore some of the more popular areas including Eau Claire, Prince's Island Park, Patrick Island Park and the East Village while the sky darkens and the city lights come alive around us. Then around 11pm we'll arrive on the banks of the Elbow River just east of the Stampede grounds where we'll have front row seats for the evening fireworks.

Afterwards I will accompany anyone who needs to cycle back to our original meeting spot to pick up their vehicle. Those who need not return to Edworthy Park may prefer to take an alternate, more direct route home.
