A hike to four very beautiful mountain lakes and hopefully a beautiful larch display.

We start from the Vista Lake viewpoint, where we quickly lose an elevation of 120m to Vista Lake. Then we gain an elevation of 600m over the next 3.6 km to Arnica Lake, which is backed against the cliffs of Storm Mountain. The trail continues over Arnica summit to Twin Lakes, reaching Upper Twin after a steady 1.4 km descent. This is the scenic approach to Twin Lakes.

This trip is best suited to strong/fit hikers as there are prolonged steep sections on this hike.

Event Directions:

Take Highway 1 west from Calgary to Banff and follow it to the Banff/Radium Highway 1/93 junction. Take Highway 93 south towards Radium. Drive 8km to a turnoff on your left at the Vista Lake/Arnica trailhead

There is no carpool for this event but you are welcome to make your own arrangements with other attendees. I do have room for 2 people in my vehicle if you are willing to prove that you are fully vaccinated.
