Itinerary:

PLEASE NOTE: Priority will be given to drivers.

Weather looks like it will be fairly mild and with some new snow here and there this week, so we may get some nice skiing. Trails will hopefully be groomed between now and the weekend. This trail is mostly flat with only a few small hills.

Your coordinator is a novice XC skier so this event will be suitable for similar skiers. We'll try to stay loosely grouped or regroup as needed. If we are on an out and back trail we may have the option to split the group but we will manage that on the day as people are comfortable.

This is a XC SKI event. Only XC skis please.

I used this parking before so hopefully it is ploughed. If there is a problem we will switch to the Evan Thomas or Wedge day use areas.

The plan is to maybe do two legs. First we go south towards the Wedge area and the Wedge Connector as far as the Evan Thomas Creek. Approx up to a 12km return.
The second leg is to go north as an out and back towards Mt.Allen Drive, which is the road into Nakiska. Return on this is approx 8km but participants can turn back sooner if they want a lesser distance. We may omit the second leg if the group chooses.

The coordinator will review trail condition reports before the event and reserves the right to adjust plans to ensure we get decent trail conditions.

NOTE: Given that the province has announced changes to Covid restrictions, the club's Covid warning follows but expect public policy changes by the event. I have posted a carpool option for whoever wishes to share rides or just convoy from the carpool. Per the clubs policy, this will be up to participants to decide who to carpool with. Please respect the carpool drivers preferences on masking, sanitising, etc or follow the convoy in your own vehicle.

COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS: Participation in this event is conditional upon attendee compliance with the following restrictions: If you have COVID-19, COVID-19-like symptoms, or may have COVID-19 due to a recent exposure, you are expected to withdraw from this event and stay home. We will be more than happy to see you at another event once it is considered safe for you to do so! Failure to comply with this requirement may result in removal from this event and/or future events.

CARPOOL: Carpooling is allowed, but only for attendees who arrange it for themselves. We will meet before leaving town, and those of you who wish to carpool are free to organize yourselves. The club looks forward to resuming "normal" carpooling in the near future.

See our COVID-19 Policy for complete information.
