Maintaining fitness can sometimes be a challenge as we get into the shoulder season. This hike will be a ‘go at your own pace’ event but participants should aim to be at the top within two hours. Two hours is not a fast pace but still requires a good level of fitness. This is not a race to the top event but more about getting a decent workout in.

Sulphur Mountain is a moderately challenging, but rewarding, hike up under the gondola. We will regroup on the fourth level for a well deserved lunch. After lunch, we'll hike back down the trail and head to the hotpools afterwards for a relaxing post hike dip.

This trip is best suited to fit hikers. There will be snow/ice on the trail so please bring microspikes.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take Hwy 1, (Trans Canada Hwy) west to Banff National Park. Take the Banff, Lake Minnewanka exit and turn left at the stop sign onto Banff Ave. Follow Banff Ave thru town and across Bow River Bridge. At “T” intersection after the bridge, turn left. After a few hundred metres around a bend, to the right is a fork in the road, bear right onto Mountain Ave (Look for a sign that points you towards the Banff Upper Hot Springs). After about 5 minutes you’ll see the Rim Rock Hotel on your left, keep going for a hundred metres bearing right until you come to a small traffic circle which is in front of the parking lot of the Banff Upper Hot Springs. We will be parking in this lot for both activities. We will meet up at the trail head there.

Notes:
Winter Safety Consideration-
This trail is part of Banff National Park's list of winter trails and currently has no advisories except microspikes recommended.
