Itinerary:

This will be one of several conditioning hikes leading up to our upcoming West Coast Trail - July 2022 backpacking event. COC members are welcome to participate however priority will be given to those signed up for the West Coast Trail - July 2022 backpacking event.
We will plan to hike the hills at Nose Hill Park for ~2hrs. Make sure to bring along your weighted backpack to get the greatest benefit from these conditioning hikes. Note: carrying bottles of water inside your backpack is an easy way to vary and increase your backpack weight to suit your conditioning targets. Every litre of water adds 1Kg (2.2 lbs).
Note: It will be getting dark near the end of our hike

Elevation: Approx 250M

Nose Hill, one of the largest urban parks in Canada and North America. This unique prairie grassland environment covers approximately 2700 acres. While still within Calgary, Nose Hill offers an escape from city life and pressures. There are a variety of trail types to follow including gravel, grass, pavement and dirt. Wildlife and wildflower sightings are common and expect some fabulous views of the city and mountains.
