Another great weather day for the long weekend, but warm. The days high is supposed to be 29c but more like 18c as we head out to take advantage of a cooler morning ride.

The club doesn't seem to be anywhere close to as active with MTB events as it once was. I'm hardly riding this year so if you're unsure about the pace, take heart, join your coordinator who has been slacking, and if you haven't ridden this trail or not in a while, neither have I so come out for a fun paced ride and watch me push my bike up hills haha.
By riding in the morning we should avoid the hot afternoon, making it more enjoyable. Once you are done bring yourself a bevvy and snacks and we'll have a little post ride social. This used to be popular as were the bbq finish. If there are enough participants we can change to a bbq lunch.
In the unlikely event we get a waitlist, we may organise into two groups with faster/slower options or go your own pace/distance.

Here is the trail description from the now defunct bikepirate website.

A sweet and super-fast singletrack for (almost) all levels of rider. This trail has a very moderate gradient with little elevation gain; not very common for Kananaskis Country. It may be ridden clockwise or counterclockwise. The fast and flowy singletrack can be taken at speed for the more advanced rider, while beginners will appreciate the little elevation gain and the rolling nature of this track. There are a number of river/creek crossings over wooden man-made bridges.
Distance: 9.4km Elevation gain: 248m

Slower intermediate riders are welcome, however you must have some previous mountain biking experience to come on this ride and show up with a real mountain bike.No Wal-Mart or Canadian tire bikes.
We'll be riding at a relaxed pace so you don't need to be an expert or a speed demon, and we'll go clockwise around the loop.

NOTE: there is no cell service at the event so if there are any problems please call before carpool time.
