Fullerton Loop is an easy hike that provides excellent views of the Elbow Valley and nearby foothills. The plan is to undertake this hike at a relaxed, but moderate pace. We will stop to catch our breath when needed and enjoy the views. Note that as this is an evening hike, we will be starting and finishing in the dark, so a headlamp is required.

You are welcome to bring your dog if they are used to hiking at a moderate, steady pace with a group and can respect the personal space of other dogs and people. Bring a light to clip onto your dog so we can see them too, please! :)

We will be hiking the loop clockwise, going UP the steep side and down the more moderate section. The event will go ahead as planned unless there is a freezing rainfall warning, very deep snow (the parking lot could be a problem), dangerous road conditions or temperatures below -25c.

Required Items to Bring:
warm hiking boots / winter hikers with good tread
icers / traction devices
water
bear spray
headlamp
toque and gloves
appropriate clothing (no cotton please!)
Kananaskis Conservation Pass
Recommended Items to Bring:

How to Get There:
Event Directions:NOTE: As of June 1, 2021, you will need a Kananaskis Conservation Pass to attend this event. Please see the Alberta Parks website for more information: Kananaskis Conservation Pass

Follow the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) to Highway 22, follow Highway 22 south through Bragg Creek, turning left at the 4-way stop. At the Highway 66 Junction, turn right and follow Highway 66. The parking area is on the right, across from the Allen Bill Day Use area - you'll see the signs after you cross the Elbow River bridge. We will meet in the parking area near the cars at 6 p.m., ready to hike. I'll have a green daypack.

If you are running late, please text before you start driving. If you arrive after we've left, please do not attempt to hike out alone to catch up with us.
