This event is aimed at intermediate to advanced classic XC skiers who can comfortably ski at a moderate pace (~3-5 km/hr, depending upon terrain) for a few hours, stopping at junctions to regroup / get a drink or take a photo of the views. Definitely not a blistering pace, but also not suitable for very beginners or slow pokes, due to the hills and distance. Faster skiers are definitely welcome but must plan to stay with the group or do out-and-back laps to stay warm - thanks!

We will be parking at the Elk Pass parking lot (with outhouses) and heading up the Elk Pass trail to the table at the pass for lunch (or in the trees if it's windy), returning via the Hydroline and Fox Creek trail, for a distance of about 12km total. The trail up follows an old fire road and offers impressive views of the valley and lakes below. The Hydroline section is wide open with sweeping views and Fox Creek is a fun 'single track' trail that weaves it's way down and along the creek. The area has reportedly had good snow conditions these past weeks, so let's get out and enjoy it!
