This loop begins at the Powderface Creek parking area. We'll take a clockwise approach to it, hiking Powderface Creek trail to the junction with Prairie Link trail (3.3km), over Prairie Link trail to Prairie Creek (3.2km), then out Prairie Creek trail back to the parking lot (5.6km).
The route has sections of mixed deciduous/coniferous forests, lodgepole pine stands, open meadows, and riverside hiking.

Our pace will be moderate and we will be staying together as a group. We will be out to enjoy the day.

- Hat, gloves or mitts
- Layered clothing appropriate to weather
- Water, lunch, snacks

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From Calgary, take Hwy 22 south to Bragg Creek. At the traffic lights turn left and proceed south 2 km to Highway 66. At the T-junction turn right and proceed west to the signed Powderface (Creek) parking area on your right.

NOTE: you will need a Kananaskis Park Pass to park in the Powderface Creek lot

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $41.60 (calculated at total Km * $0.32, effective Sunday, February 9, 2025). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
