Pace: 3 - 4 km / hr - no slow pokes on this one, please! Backpacking season is right around the corner! Come on out with your pack and get some easy milage on in the foothills. We'll aim to keep a steady 3 - 4 km / hr pace to mimic being on an actual overnight trail. Members can bring their weighted overnight packs along for the hike. Note that because members are carrying weight, this will not be a slow-poke hike - we are aiming to keep time with weight to 3 hours or less with minimal stops.

"This easy loop winding through meadow and forest is a popular choice for early spring and late fall. It has two distinct sections: the undulating high line north of the highway which offers views of Moose Mountain and the 2005 pipeline right-of- way, and the riverbank route south of the highway." If the day is clear, we should have nice views of the front range on our way out along the north 'highline'. (kananaskistrails.com)

Fast and light day-pack hikers are welcome but should come prepared to relax their speed to stay with the group.
