Picklejar Lakes is so named because fishing for trout is as easy as "pulling pickles from a jar". It is a fly fisherman's dream. The lakes are full of cutthroat trout. The only problem is getting there! This hike is moderate to strenuous and there's tricky footing near the pass. However, you are rewarded with beautiful views. There is a backwoods campground located here. Also, as a warning, grizzlies like this area, as they love to fish.

Ref: GemTrek's Highwood and Cataract Creek map.

Note:The pace will be slow and because this is a bear area, hikers must stick close together. If you cannot abide by this rule, DO NOT sign up for this event.

Please note that for the safety and comfort of the whole group this hike coordinator requires that all participants wear hiking boots with ankle support (no low cut hiking shoes, nor sneakers) and carry a properly equipped day pack with suitable clothing, food, water and personal first aid for the hike. Cotton clothing and jeans are strongly discouraged.
