AS an early riser, the coordinator enjoys getting out before work for a brisk walk. And I was told when I posted this hike a month or so ago, that 7:30 am was too late; better to start at 6:45 am. So let's see who agrees - or even if the one suggesting this early start comes.

This urban hike will take us through a very interesting coulee /ravine - in Tuscany, in the NW part of Calgary. If we are very lucky, we may see deer in the ravine. When in the coulee, you cannot hear the noise of the city - even the traffic on Stoney Trail which is closeby. A tranquil place to start your day. But we do have to cross the small creek about a dozen or so times, so there may be some muddy patches.

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

From Crowchild Trail: take the Stoney Trail exit south to the first traffic light which is Tuscany Blvd, and where you will turn right.
From 16th Ave (Hwy 1): turn North onto Stoney Trail, cross the Bow River, up the hill to the 3rd traffic lights which is Tuscany Blvd where you will turn left.
--Continue along Tuscany Blvd for about 1km until you see Tuscany Hills Rd on your left and then turn left. Park immediately on your right side beside a little park.
