It's great to go on a hike that's close to Calgary . This is mostly steep hiking, if you are ok with Prairie Mountain or Ha Ling Peak, you should be ok with this one (it's just longer).

From the trailhead parking lot, follow up the trail for approx 100m and turn left onto the Skogan Pass Trail (very visible electrical power line right of way). Follow the Skogan Pass Trail, crossing or circumventing two small ravines along the way, for approx 3 4 kms to a well marked trail (marked by cairn) on your left. Follow this trail for approx 1 to 2 klms to another trail on your left marked by a Living with Wildlife sign. This trail will take you above the tree line and leads to the Pigeon Mountain summit. We'll be aiming to gain both the minor summit and summit of Pigeon Mountain . Please come prepared for inclement weather.

Please Note:Exploratory Trip. Please allow time/patience. thanks
PACE:Expect a steady pace for this hike - sorry this is NOT a slowpokes hike, nor is it one for speed demons. You should be in good shape and/or have done hikes of similar distance and elevation earlier in the season.
