The Kananaskis Trail Report will be reviewed prior to the event. The trail location may change depending on conditions. The loop I am thinking of will start at the Elk Pass Parking Lot. We will take the Elk Pass Trail to the Lookout Trail then Whiskey Jack Trail to Boulton Creek Trail. We can extend the route by taking the Fox Creek Trail or stay on Boulton Creek Trail back to the Elk Pass Trail. This loop is approx. 16km on groomed moderate uphill and downhill terrain. This trip will be at a moderate pace.

Please note that this event is not suitable for beginners.

Follow Hwy. 1 West to Hwy. 40 South. Travel to winter gate and turn right onto Kananaskis Lakes Trail. Continue past the P.L.P.P. Visitor Centre, past the Boulton Creek Trading Post to the Elk Pass Parking Lot.

Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $112.20 (calculated at total Km * $0.33, effective Saturday, August 8, 2026). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
