One of the objectives of the Calgary Outdoor Training Program in 2009 is to provide educational sessions where members can learn about different aspects of the outdoors.

The Norseman Ski Shop has offered to put on a presentation for the Calgary Outdoor Club. They not only specialize in x/ski equipment but also in hiking gear. They can help you to enhance your hiking/backpacking enjoyment by getting the right and well fitted gear.The following topics will be covered:

-how to choose a well fitting pack
-accessories and clothing
-a relatively small difference between an OK and an excellent, well fitted boot makes a huge difference on a 5 or 8 hour trip
-do's & don't on the trail -hikers etiquette
-packing the backpack the right way and wrong way
Don't be shy and come with your questions.

How do I sign up and pay???
-You will need to put your name on the wait list(doesn't matter where your name is on wait list/members who pay first will be on the event first)
-You then need to contact The Norseman Ski Shop directly at 403-249-5451 and tell them that you're with the COC and want to register for the presentation. They accept Mastercard or Visa.(Pls note there is no refund, although your registration payment is redeemable till the end of June for store merchandise).
-Once you've paid, email me and I will move you from the wait list to the events list.
