The following terms and conditions apply to all visitors to or users of this website (this "Site"), which is owned and operated by the Calgary Outdoor Club +More (COC). Please feel free to browse this Site; however, your access and use of this Site is subject to the following terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions") and all applicable laws. By accessing and browsing this Site, you accept, without limitation or qualification, these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any of these Terms and Conditions, do not use this Site. COC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, alter or otherwise update these Terms and Conditions at any time. By using this Site you agree to be bound by such modifications, alterations or updates and should therefore periodically visit this page to determine the then-current Terms and Conditions to which you are bound.

Jurisdiction and Choice of Law
This Site is controlled and operated by COC from its offices within Canada. COC makes no representation that materials in this Site are appropriate or available for use in other locations, and access to such materials from territories where their contents are illegal is prohibited. Those who choose to access this Site from other locations do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta, as it is applied to agreements entered into and to be performed entirely within such Province. Any action you, any third party or COC brings to enforce these Terms and Conditions or in connection with any matters related to this Site shall be brought only in the Provincial or Federal Courts located in the city of Calgary Outdoor Club +More, and you expressly consent to the jurisdiction of said courts.
Privacy
The COC is committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality and security of your personal information. This Protection of Personal Information Policy describes the personal information that we collect from or about you, and how we use and to whom we disclose that information.
- Persons Affected: This Privacy Policy applies to and governs the Calgary Outdoor Club +More. All references in this Policy to the "Calgary Outdoor Club +More", "we", "us", "our" and like terms should be interpreted accordingly.
- Definitions: For the purposes of this Protection of Personal Information Policy, personal information is any information about an identifiable individual, other than the person's business title or business contact information when used or disclosed for the purpose of business communications. Personal information does not include anonymous or non-personal information (i.e., information that cannot be associated with or traced back to a specific individual).
- What Personal Information do we Collect? We collect and maintain different types of personal information in respect of individuals with whom we interact. This includes:
- contact and identification information, such as your name, age, address, telephone number, e-mail address, emergency contact, medical information, activity preferences;
- registration statistics;
- financial information such as your payment methods;
- Consent: As a general rule, we collect personal information directly from you. We may utilize the services of third parties in our organization and may also receive personal information collected by those third parties. Where this is the case, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that such third parties have represented to us that they have the right to disclose your personal information to us.
- Why Do We Collect Personal Information? We collect personal information to enable us to manage and develop our club and operations, including:
- to provide you with services that have been requested;
- to be able to review services that we provide to you so that we may understand your requirements and so that we may work to improve our services;
- to protect us against error, fraud, theft and damage to our goods and property;
- any other reasonable purpose to which you consent.
- How do we Use Your Personal Information? We use your personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or for any additional purposes for which we have obtained your consent.
- When do we Disclose Your Personal Information? When you sign up for membership with the COC, we agree to not sell or rent your personal
information in any way (however, remember that COC is a public directory and other members can see whatever information you choose to make public).
We share your personal information with our volunteers, contractors, consultants and other parties who require such information to assist us with establishing,
maintaining and managing our relationship with you, including: third parties that provide services to us or on our behalf; third parties that collaborate with the
COC in the provision of services to you; and, third parties whose services we use to perform our services.
Further, your personal information may be disclosed:- to protect the rights and property of the Calgary Outdoor Club +More;
- during emergency situations or where necessary to protect the safety of a person or group of persons;
- with your consent.
- Your Consent is Important to Us: Typically, we will seek your consent at the time that we collect the personal information. If we plan to use or disclose your personal information for a purpose not previously identified we will advise you of that purpose before such use or disclosure.
- How is Your Personal Information Protected? The COC endeavors to maintain physical, technical and procedural safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information in question. These safeguards are designed to prevent your personal information from loss and unauthorized access, copying, use, modification or disclosure.
- Updating Your Personal Information: Since we use your personal information to provide services to you it is important that the information contained in our records is both accurate and current. If your personal information happens to change, please keep us informed of such changes.
- Access to Your Personal Information: You can see, and update, the personal information that we hold about you. If you want to review, verify or correct your personal information, please log in to our website with your username and password, and visit our Edit Your Info page.
- Inquiries or Concerns? If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or concerns about how we manage your personal information, please contact our President by e-mail. We will endeavor to answer your questions and advise you of any steps taken to address the issues raised by you. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may be entitled to make a written submission to the Privacy Commissioner applicable for your jurisdiction.
- Revisions to this Privacy Policy: The COC may from time to time make changes to this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in its legal or regulatory obligations or in the manner in which we deal with your personal information. We will post any revised version of this Privacy Policy on our website (www.calgaryoutdoorclub.com.) This Privacy Policy was last updated on May 28, 2020.
E-mail: We use your Personal Information to operate COC and we may occasionally contact you with your consent. COC will never intentionally send unsolicited e-mail messages that could legitimately be construed as spam. All e-mails sent from COC will be sent only to those that have opted-in and will contain opt-out instructions, should you decide to remove yourself from our e-mail distribution list.
Statistics: Your information is also used in aggregate form on the COC website statistics page to allow other website users to get a better understanding of who makes up the club, without revealing any individual data.
Updating & Removing Personal Information: COC provides you with a way in which you can alter or remove the Personal Information listed in the member network, via a profile update page in the member area. If you wish to have your membership registration removed, simply log into the member area and request that your account be closed.
Surveys: COC may periodically conduct individual voluntary member surveys. We encourage our members to participate in these surveys because they provide us with important information that helps us to improve the club. The responses we collect from online surveys are anonymous.
Cookies: Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored in a browser-related file on your computer's hard drive when you use portions of our website. We use cookies to improve the member experience, like allowing the member to login without typing the registered username and password. Cookies are widely used on most major websites.
IP Address: The COC uses your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website. Your IP address is also used to gather broad demographic information. This information is used in a way that it does not display information that identifies individual members.
Third Party Links: COC contains links to a variety of third party sites to enhance the member experience. COC has no control of either the content or privacy policies of such sites, nor should such links be considered an endorsement of these sites except where otherwise noted.
Children: Protecting the privacy of the young is especially important to COC. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information on our website from those we actually know are under 18, and no part of our website is intended for use by those under 18.
Abuse: We may provide your personal information to the police or other investigating agencies to assist them in the invesigation of any suspected violations of law. We also have the right to share your name and contact information with our attorneys, in the event of serious violations of conduct.

Chat Rooms
This service may include chat rooms which allow feedback to COC and real-time interaction between users. COC does not control the messages, information or files delivered in these rooms. It is a condition of your use of the room and this website that you do not:
- Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the room.
- Post or transmit any unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane or indecent information of any kind, including without limitation any transmissions constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any local, state, national or international law.
- Post or transmit any information, software or other material which violates or infringes upon the rights of others, including material which is an invasion of privacy or publicity rights or which is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right, or derivative works with respect thereto, without first obtaining permission from the owner or right holder.
- Post or transmit any information, software or other material which contains a virus or other harmful component.
- Post, transmit or in any way exploit any information, software or other material for commercial purposes, or which contains advertising.
License
By posting messages, uploading files, inputting data, or engaging in any other form of communication through our chat rooms, you are granting COC a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to:
- Use, copy, sublicense, adapt, transmit, publicly perform or display any such communication.
- Sublicense to third parties the unrestricted right to exercise any of the foregoing rights granted with respect to the communication.
Liability
Under no circumstances, including, but not limited to, negligence, shall COC, its subsidiary and affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages that result from the use of, or the inability to use, COC materials. You specifically acknowledge and agree that COC is not liable for any defamatory, offensive or illegal conduct of any user. If you are dissatisfied with any COC material, or with any of COC’s terms and conditions, your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue using this system.
Termination
This agreement is effective until terminated by COC, at any time without notice. In the event of termination, you are no longer authorized to access the chat rooms and the restrictions imposed on you with respect to material downloaded from the chat rooms, the disclaimers and limitations of liabilities set forth in this agreement, shall survive.
Other
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta without giving effect to any principles or conflicts of law. If any provision of this agreement shall be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
