Fullerton Loop is an easy hike that provides
excellent views of the Elbow
Valley and nearby
foothills. The plan is to undertake this hike
at a relaxed, but moderate pace. We
will stop
to catch our breath when needed and enjoy the
views. The evenings are starting to get
shorter, so the end of the loop will require the
use of a headlamp to
be able to see the trail. :D
You are
welcome
to bring your dog if they are used to hiking
at a moderate, steady pace with a group and can
respect the personal space of other dogs
and people - please bring a light for your dog
too!:)
We will be hiking the
loop clockwise, therefore going UP the steep
side and down the more moderate section. At this
time hiking footwear with good tread should
suffice, but be prepared to pack icers / traction
devices if Calgary rain showers fall as snow or
mixed precipitation in the foothills.
The event will go ahead as planned unless there
is a heavy rainfall warning for the area,
dangerous road conditions or cold weather
temperatures below -25c (including wind chill).
Required Items to Bring:
hiking boots / trail shoes with good tread
water
bear spray
headlamp and spare batteries
